About Dr. Windell D. Boutté
Dr. Windell Boutté was born in the small town of St. Martinville, Louisiana. Her father and mother came from extremely large, impoverished families and were the offspring of sharecroppers. They received a 3rd and 4th grade education respectively, foregoing their education to help support their families.
However, they made it absolutely clear to the 6 out of 9 surviving adult children that attaining a sound education and professional career was paramount. By the age of 12, Dr. Boutté had set her mind on becoming a physician, and her father never allowed her to forget her dream. With the love and support of her family, she graduated valedictorian of her high school.
She then went on to major in Biology with English Honors at Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she graduated summa cum laude. While attending Xavier University, she was a recipient of the Minority Access to Research Careers scholarship, which gave her the opportunity to conduct research at various universities throughout the country. During her senior year, she was awarded the National HBCU Student Award for Excellence in Science and Technology, bestowing the opportunity to visit the White House and meet then President Ronald Reagan.
Dr. Boutté proceeded to attend UCLA School of Medicine. While there, she discovered her love of dermatology. Under the tutelage of her mentor, Dr. Ronald Moy, she published several research-based articles in dermatology medical journals, as well chapters for dermatological textbooks. Due to her desire to return to the South, Dr. Boutté selected Emory University School of Medicine for dermatology residency training.
Dr. Boutté began private practice in June of 1997, and quickly learned the medical and business aspects of her chosen field from such great mentors as Dr. Wesley Wilborn. By April 1, 2000, she began her own solo practice, Dekalb Dermatology and Surgery, LLC. Due to her profound fascination with laser technology, she was the first in the metropolitan Atlanta area to introduce certain cosmetic laser procedures to the African American community. She has always made it her priority to research and implement state-of-the-art, non-invasive procedures that were safe, financially practical, and effective. She always strives to achieve long-standing skin rejuvenating results of which patients can be proud.
While pursuing her many career goals, Dr. Boutté takes time to nurture her family, as she is the proud mother of three wonderful sons. She has been happily married for 17 years to her high-school sweetheart and longtime practice manager, Adejia Boutté, Sr.
Dr. Boutté, true to her craft, has developed "Premiére Aesthetic Center," which houses her medical dermatology practice Premiére Dermatology and Surgery, her aesthetic and laser center Aesthetic and Laser Boutique, and her med-spa Le Pavillon MedSpa. The newest to join this exciting family is the Premiére Essence Medspa. She is excited to introduce the first multi-center skin wellness center of its kind in metropolitan Atlanta!
